Gizmo was having a pleasant day out. I found him literally sitting on his dog-sitter’s lap. I don’t mean to anthropo- morphize here, but amazingly, Gizmo appeared to be reading a book. It was Agricultural Development and Tenancy Disputes in Japan, 1870-1940, by Richard J. Smethurst. There was also an iPad nearby.
